I know I’m not the only one planning my Spring makes at the moment and daydreaming of sunnier days! For this blog post I’ve taken inspiration from this month’s Modista brands, Tammy Handmade and Rainbow Fabrics!
Both are offering exclusive discounts this month to Modista Patreon members – Tammy’s PDF patterns are 15% off and you get a whopping 20% discount at Rainbow Fabrics. Both of these lovely businesses have extended the discount until the end of MAY 2021 and with Patreon membership just £3 a month you could save that on just on purchase!
I absolutely LOVE both these brands and thoroughly enjoyed browsing their sites for inspiration – hope you enjoy these ideas!
1. Leona dress

This is Spring in a dress! The Rhea dress is an infinitely hackable tiered cami dress and I love this colour blocked version Tammy made. Why not hack it to have a button front or add flutter off the shoulder sleeves? The Rhea works in most woven fabrics – you could use a cotton or cotton lawn for structure or a viscose for a drapey look. It would also be so comfy in a double gauze!
I love these Irish linens from Rainbow Fabrics and think they would make beautiful Rheas for summer!
For a more drapey Rhea you could use a viscose – I love the idea of this black daisy challis layered over a white t-shirt or a button hack in this mustard summery viscose!
2. Anita Camisole

The Anita Camisole is a classic staple and perfect especially if you are beginner sewist. Suited for drapey fabrics such as satin and viscose it is a lovely spring addition to your wardrobe!
This leopard viscose challis would be a great choice for a slinky Anita – maybe even lengthened into a slip? For a classic staple this white satin would be a great choice.
3. The Hayley Robe

The Hayley robe is one of my favourites from Tammy’s collection and is so luxurious! It can be made in everything from cotton lawn to waffle cotton and satin depending on what look you want.
Bear with me as I’ve chosen two plain fabrics here but with a completely different handle. Rainbow Fabrics are known for their stunning Japanese cupro which has a handle like sandwashed silk and would feel AMAZING on the skin as a robe! The second fabric is a viscose linen which would have more structure and feel more like a day robe, so luxurious!
I hope you like these picks for Spring from this month’s Modista brands! This is just a peek at what they have on offer so do check their websites for more.
